Leadership styles assessment
Do you know the difference between a boss and a leader? A boss gives orders and focuses on tasks, while a leader collaborates with employees to achieve goals. In today’s job market, employees prefer leaders. What type of leader are you? Take our leadership styles assessment to find out.
Why is the leadership styles assessment important for your organization?
Understanding the leadership styles of your team leaders, directors, etc., is crucial for enhancing employee productivity and satisfaction. Depending on the team, you can choose whether to assign someone with a particular leadership style to that team.
What does our assessment measure?
Our assessment identifies your ideal leadership style. You’ll get an overview of different styles and your alignment with them. Use the assessment to set learning goals and adjust your leadership style as needed. With conscious effort, you can achieve your desired leadership outcomes by adapting your style.
A unique assessment with personal profiles
Our comprehensive measurement creates a unique profile for each participant. This profile is formed by the measured skills and corresponding preferred behaviors. We do not offer standard levels, but indicate whether your score is high, average or low relative to the norm. This will give you a clear overview of your strengths and areas of development.
Within all of our assessments, we use gamification elements.
How do you gain insight into what your team needs in a leader?
Wondering how to understand your team’s leadership needs? Being an effective leader requires high emotional intelligence. Leaders with high emotional intelligence tend to be more successful, benefiting both their team and themselves, compared to those who view team members merely as tools for achieving goals. Explore our emotional intelligence assessment for further insights.
What are the different leadership styles?
The different leadership styles are outlined by Daniel Goleman. He suggests that there are at least six different styles, namely:
1. Visionary leader
The visionary leader primarily focuses on the goal that needs to be achieved and ensuring that everyone in the team is aligned toward that goal.
2. People-oriented leader
The people-oriented leader primarily focuses on the well-being of the team and its individuals. They strive to provide a listening ear to team members and motivate them.
3. Authoritative leader
The authoritative leader primarily focuses on giving instructions to their team members. They do not assume that team members are capable of executing tasks on their own.
4. Coaching leader
The coaching leader primarily focuses on identifying (and working with) the strengths and weaknesses of their team members. They collaborate with team members to develop skills and achieve better results in the long term.
5. Democratic leader
The democratic leader primarily focuses on involving their team members in decision-making processes. By doing so, they cultivate a sense of responsibility among team members.
6. Competitive leader
The competitive leader primarily focuses on continuously improving the products of their organization and their team members. They often use external motivators to reward good (or better) behavior.
